Sebastian Kelly

Artistic director, writer and performer

Sebastian has worked in theatre-in-education and spent many years devising and performing as part of environmental campaigns before co-founding Restless Natives. A former national park ranger and staff member at Schumacher College, he also works as an environmental educator, group facilitator and writer. www.sebastiankelly.com

     



Becky Tarbotton

Becky Tarbotton

Performer

Becky co-founded Restless Natives. She worked for the International Society for Ecology and Culture and went on to be a campaign manager with the Rainforest Action Network. She later became the organisation’s Executive Director. Becky died in a freak accident in December 2012. We remember, celebrate and mourn her. Becky was a very much loved friend and collaborator; a spirited and wonderful woman; and a gifted environmental leader.

Emma Sampson

Performer

Emma is an artist, songwriter and environmental activist. She has experience in permaculture and is involved in a local land project.

     
     
 

America Worden

Performer

America has been involved in theatre and performance from a young age. She has a degree in Native American Studies and a MSc. in Holistic Science from Schumacher College. Meri has experience of Steiner education and teaching and helped build her family's straw bale house. She doesn't normally have blue hair.

     
     
 

Robin de Carteret

Workshop leader, musical director & performer

Robin de Carteret is an educator, facilitator and consultant with a knack for bringing his scientific knowledge, from a physics degree and MSc in Holistic Science at Schumacher College, to groups in innovative and fresh ways. Using experiential techniques from performance improvisation, systems games, nature connection activities and harmony singing he introduces thought-provoking concepts from complexity science, Gaia theory and systems thinking. He has worked for many years in schools, implementing ideas for improving sustainability and was co-founder of Transition Leicester, applying a systems perspective to reviving local communities. He works freelance acting to bring about change from a living systems view of the world.

Kristen Steele

Co-ordinator and performer

Kristen trained and performed with the Bonstelle Undergraduate Theatre Co. in Detroit, Michigan and Hanger Theatre Lab Co. in Ithaca, New York. She holds a bachelor's degree in Environmental Studies from the University of Vermont, an MSc in Wild Animal Biology from the Royal Veterinary College, and has taught at primary school and undergraduate levels. She currently works for the International Society for Ecology and Culture

     
     
 

Jo McGain

Designer and performer

Jo grew up in Tanzania and spends as much time as she can in the outdoors, exploring wild places. She loves learning about plants and their uses, creating patchworks and swimming in wild rivers.  Jo also works supporting small green businesses with event management and social media.
